Look down often

People usually look at the world from three angles: looking up, looking down, and looking down.

Looking straight up is the most normal and comfortable way of looking. It comes from a calm and normal heart, contains maturity and confidence, is neither humble nor arrogant, neither impatient nor impatient. It is conducive to moving forward steadily and is less likely to cause falls and accidents. Looking up is the angle of vision used to look at people and things taller than us, which is the so-called looking up at mountains. The benefits of looking up often are that we know that there is a sky and there are people outside of us. We have role models to learn from and benchmarks to compare with, so that we will not be like a frog in a well and have arrogance. From a side effect, looking up for a long time will not only cause neck pain, but also often make us feel inferior, feeling that we are very small, inferior to others in everything, and always in a state of depression.

Looking down, "seeing all the small mountains at a glance", is the angle of vision used to see people and things lower than us. Some people are not as successful as us, are not as famous as us, and have lower social status than us. Then, when we turn our eyes to them, our eyes will inevitably contain contempt, snobbishness and pity. Most of the time, we tend to ignore them and turn a blind eye to them, because our envious eyes have been staring at those more successful people than us, and we are busy comparing ourselves with those rich and famous people, which makes us jealous and sad, and we are exhausted.

Judging from the laws of nature, generally speaking, young people like to look up and "youth should take the clouds into account". In their eyes, there are few people they can look up to, and only those famous celebrities and giants will enter their field of vision. For example, when Liu Bang saw Qin Shihuang, he dared to say, "This is what a man should do." Xiang Yu was even better than him: "He can take his place." When a person reaches middle age, his mentality has calmed down, his sharpness has subdued, and he knows that the world is not easy, he will gradually set his sights level, walk leisurely on the road, and run towards his goal in an orderly manner. After entering an old state, weathered by hardships, seeing countless people, "accustomed to seeing the autumn moon and spring breeze", I am no longer obsessed with success, fame and feasting. In addition, my waist is hunched, my back is bent, and my eyesight is dazzled, so I naturally and unnaturally regard looking down as a habit.

Of course, it varies from person to person, and some people have been looking up to them all their lives and aiming at higher goals their whole lives. He may have lived a pompous and glamorous life, but he must have also lived a very tired and hurried life. He was only concerned with attacking cities and forts one after another, but had no time to browse the scenery and enjoy life. In fact, his life was very unfair. Therefore, when we are tired of looking up, we might as well look down and see those people living at the bottom of society. Although they are the same people as us, they have lower education than us, less income than us, smaller houses, less decent jobs, lower social status than us, and are always unknown. In front of them, we often have a sense of superiority, and we usually look down upon them and rarely glance at them.

In fact, their survival wisdom and social value are no less than ours, and their contributions and labor are no less than ours. We have no reason to be proud of ourselves. Moreover, if you keep in touch with them, you will have unexpected gains. If a white-collar worker is exhausted physically and mentally from hard work in the workplace, or when the market competition is life-and-death, if he takes advantage of his breathing time to look down at the cobblers, car repairmen, peddlers, and scavengers on the street, you will feel that even if you take ten or a hundred steps back, your standard of living is still higher than his. Why bother fighting for those extraneous things?

By extension, when an official is worried about his poor official career and not moving up to a higher level, he might as well look down at the lives of his subordinates, sit in their homes, and listen to what difficulties they have and what their expectations are; You can also condescend to sit in the homes of your employees and see what they are thinking and what they are doing. A general who is racking his brains to formulate a battle plan might as well take some time out of his busy schedule to visit the soldiers' tents and listen to their thoughts and suggestions. The trip will definitely be worthwhile. Looking down often may make us change our thinking, or it may soothe our impetuous souls, cool down our fanatical desires, and turn us into a normal person, rather than a money-making machine, a workplace madman, or a gangster.

Looking down often is a way to rest and relax, to recharge and to decompress. It is really a wise move.
